Rigzin Namgyal: Director Rigzin hails from a Nomad family in Ladakh, in the northwest Indian state of Jammu-Kashmir. A graduate of Delhi University with a degree in Indian History, Rigzin seeks to share his Ladakh's rich heritage with all who are interested. He has been involved in such diverse pursuits as Indian politics, Ladakh tourism, and monastery and hotel management. Rigzin co-founded this dream venture in 2002 and has been running exceptional trips with diverse groups in all areas of Nepal and India ever since. In 2008, Rigzin envisioned and actualized the first ever Ladakhi Environmental Education and Leadership camp, and is edicated to spreading quality education in remote parts of the Himalayas.
Lotus Sandhup:Director Born into a Shepard family in Stok village, Ladakh, in the shadow of the massive Stok Kangri (6200m.), Lotus has always been inspired by the great Ladakhi and Himalayan ranges. He worked in Rural Development in Ladakh for 2 years, then for a UK based travel company for 10 years before co founding this dream venture with his good friend Rigzin . Lotus is a keen climber, avid bird watcher, and nomad at heart guiding groups all over Nepal and India. He is the first guide to take an international group to Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh in north-east India.
Kaushal Mahajan-Marketing & Operation: Kaushal has been working with Wilderness ( formerly known as Footprints), for last 3 and half years. Prior to that he was working with Make My Trip. A young enthusiastic and extremely dedicated person hailing from Chandigarh , Kaushal is looks after the operational as well presale costing along with his team in operations. To enhance his product knowledge of Ladakh Kaushal has spent the summer of 08, trekking and visiting monasteries and handling clients in Ladakh.
Kapil Sharma: Sales and Operation: Kapil joined the family in Dec. 08. Prior this he was working for an Independent Delhi based travel Company for 3 years. Kapil's timely one liner humour keeps us going in our office.
Thupstan Angchuk: Operations and Ladakh costing: He has been associated with family of Wilderness since 2005. A graduate of Delhi University, Angchuk hails from Changthang region of Ladakh. Angchuk is currently a politicians in the local Ladakhi Government body, serving his region.
Tsewang Namgyal: Operations. Young and extremely hardworking and resourceful person from Ladakh , this is Namgyal's second stint with the Company. He has preivously worked with Organisation for 3 years and this year he has rejoined us. He looks after the transport and guides section of Journey to Ladakh. Very polite, extremely courteous will add flavor to the important trip that he will escort with our Indian Guests. Sonam Gyurmet: Gyurmet, has been part of the Wilderness family for last three years, co-ordinating hotel, transport arrangements, as well at guest relationship. He has led trip in Northern India, Nepal.
Rahul: A young guy from Dharamshala, it is Rahul's 5th year at the organisation. Keen fitness guy, Rahul looks after JTL stores, office managerial work , permit for clients, arranging guides, sherpas for the treks and camps. Rahul is immaculately dedicated in his work and make sure every small detail of camping and trek is taken care off. He is amazingly courteous to everyone he meets and make immediate rapport with the guests.
Stanzin: This is Stanzin's 6th year with organization. He is our backbone trek supervisor. Stanzin hails from Zanksar region of Ladakh and has extensively traveled and trekked in Sikkim, Garhwal,Ladakh and Himachal. Stazin is an adorable soul for your camping and trekking trip, he will ensure that you are so well looked after on the trip.
Govind: Hails from Mandi region of Himachal Pradesh in Northern India. Govind has been associated with Tiger Tops-Mountain Travel India for 20 years and since last four years, govind has become part of the every growing Wilderness family. Govind's calm demeanor, humility and efficiency at work has won him love and liking not only from our guests on various treks and camping trip but all other team members who works with him.
Man Mohan Singh( Monu): Hails from Himachal again, he has been in-charge of our trekking store, shopping for our treks and hotels. He has been part of the Wilderness family since last four years and with each passing years he has been shouldering more responsibility for the organization and our guests.
This core team is backed by excellent and committed field staff that includes, our cooks, assistance, guides, drivers and handpicked pony men.
